    7th panel:

God: Instead of having you say "Amen", how about all of you getting on your knees and proclaiming that you're not worthy?

Bugs: We're not worthy! We're not worthy! We're scum! We suck!

I kinda like amen. It reminds me that it's a pagan sun worshipping religion and Amen Ra is such in your face proof – c'mone, it's good for a laugh everytime I hear it.

Actually, Amen Ra isn’t proof of that at all. We can translate Ancient Egyptian, but we have no idea what it would have sounded like, so Amen Ra’s name may not have sounded anything like the word ‘Amen’.

I thought it was Amon Ra. I was told growing up that Amen was Aramaic for "oh yes," sort of a general affirmation.

Yup. Hebrew/Aramaic, also transliterated into the Greek New Testament which is where Christians get it from. But I think the illusion brings Hipmonkey peace…

Actually, I knew a pastor who insisted we say "word." So it would go a little like…

"And Jesus died for us. Word."

    "Word."

In John 1:1 there is a passage that reads "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." In greek the word "Word" in this passage is Λόγος (logos) which means light, reason, and divine spark, I think. At least that's what my history teacher said.
