'Domesticated volcano'… :D Does it come to heel when you whistle? Or, even better: roll over?

Actually, a volcanologist would call that a cinder cone volcano, the word lava means “a stream caused suddenly by rain,” and mentos and diet coke make for a waay better volcano. Can't really argue with the 2nd panel though.

I'm not sure why, but the first panel made me laugh the hardest.

I think because I can imagine a group of hard-nosed bug-scientists discussing amongst themselves, "what shall we call this strange earthen formation?" and a Feynman-bug interrupting and saying "just call it an Earth-zit and be done with it!"

I'm surprised you didn't make a Mordor/Mount Doom reference somewhere in here.

Female teachers almost always look like that in cartoons. It's just a stereotype.

A real conversation with my friend, honest!

Friend: I saw this program about the center of the earth, you know how temperature rises if things is under pressure, well the pressure in the center of the earth is so high that it melts rock and makes it liquid.

    Me: Yeah, that's pretty crazy.

Friend: Imagine drilling a hole to the center of the earth to let the pressure out, that would be some wild.

Me: You mean a volcano? Yeah, that's normally pretty wild stuff.

    Friend: ….doh.. you're right.. I think I just figured out how a volcano works…

The worst part is, we are both in our 40'ies and he only "invented the volcano" a couple of years ago, which kinda put the strip you ran a couple of weeks ago with the "do my elbow smell funny" friend selection process into perspective.. :-)

I recently doubt this website and read everything in the archives. Your comics are funny and sophisticated, and I think the bug characters are simply amazing. You just got yourself another regular viewer here.

HAHA! Earth zit! Thank you, Adam, for filling the long vacant hole left when Bill Watterson and Gary Larson hung up their pens. Bug brings a smile to my face every day.

Somehow, I sense Dave Barry in here somewhere. Just the syntax and topic choice I guess. But, hey, I love Dave Barry, and I love this strip!
