I think I live on the wrong continent to truly laugh at this.
Yeah, I think I know what it’s referring to, but it’s interesting to kinda “get” the joke but still not laughing helplessly at it. Some kind of analyzing “Oh? Oh! Aha! Oh, I see. That was kinda funny, I guess…”
Well, still, USUALLY I don’t have this problem with this comic so, well, just carry on. Good work, checking daily etc.
On the upside, it’s probably challenging to draw a Ref Bug with his head under the replay hood. The horse is only mostly dead.
I’m on the right continent and I still can’t truely laugh at this, but that’s probably because I’m not much of a Football fan…
At least I get it, which more than I could say for myself 4 years ago…
In American football, a coach can throw a red flag when he thinks an official messed up a call. it’s called a “challenge.” The play will then be reviewed via videotape.
A yellow flag gets thrown by an official when there has been a penalty on the field. (15 yards means the team in violation has to move back 15 yeards form the goal line)
I laughed, but after you explained it, I laughed again, different.
This really reminds me of the time Homer from the simpsons’ discovers the glove slap.
Who needs a flag when you can just call shenanigans?
I love it, but then again I’m from the U.S. so…
For the futbol fans, Adam could do a Yellow Card/Red Card gag.
Yellow card for being a jackass! Red Card for having no bacon in the house!
No bacon? Don’t even joke about that kind of thing.
No bacon gets you a Black Flag, as in “Schedule this guy for the next empty slot on the gallows.”
2nd panel had me cracking up.
Last time I saw CSNY in concert, Neil threw a 5-yard penalty flag on the others for a false start on a song.
