Funny as hell. The all three panels had me laughing.

    Suggestion:

Maybe you could make a Pluto vs. Earth weak. Only because I just read them and thought that a few of the characters (Winoki and Ken) were pretty funny and could probably be used in the strip along with our favorite bug and his bug friends (Kid Bug, Lady Bug, Nerd Bug, Zombie Bug, Death Bug, God Bug, and Bug Bug). Just a suggestion.

PS. Amish people are funny, live in PA.

Oddly enough I flirted with doing all these things in my high school years (well, in my favor, amish bitches be fine, and I like the idea of corrupting them) and then my life got more interesting. would that be called unjumping the shark ?

I believe the opposite of jumping the shark is called growing the beard, named after Star Trek: The Next Generation, in which the series (so I hear) got noticeably better around the same time Jonathan Frakes grew out his beard.

rofl! i love how the bunny suit has the same blank stare that bug has. Loved the second panel, i know too many people who've done that.

This may come as a surprise to you, but ALL fursuits have that blank stare. It's p. fucking creepy. That's the reason I'd never be able to do it in one of those.

Omit the blank stares from the costumes and I still wonder if “it" could actually be done in a fur suit?

            Why, yes. Yes it does.

Personally I've never done the "fursuit yiff" thing, I use mine to entertain people, since I get a kick out of that. But as much as I'd really, REALLY like to tell you that furries don't use them for sex and it's all a stereotype, that would only be a half-truth. The MAJORITY of furries don't do it, but there are those who do, heck I'm friends with a number of them. Ironically they're usually the ones who complain the most about stereotyping when someone makes a fursuit sex joke.

I once dressed in a furry costume for a fundraiser, not a turn on. It was cold out and I still almost keeled over from the heat. Therefore, I cannot imagine doing “it” in a furry costume.

I imagine the ones that are appropriately equipped for such use also have good ventilation to avoid this problem.

Actually, jumping the shark, in Bug's case, would have involved the introduction of a puppy with big moist eyes.

It could have been worse than a katana, he could have bought an exact replica of the 'Sting' from The Lord of the Rings.

Awesome. I have a friend who use to do research in McMurdo Station, Antarctica, and she told me about how this one guy she worked with didn't want his picture taken because he honestly believed that it would steal his soul. I don't think it's an Amish belief, more like Inuit, but don't quote me on that. I think the belief stems from the idea that the image on a picture is an image of your soul, and capturing the image would mean capturing your soul. It's similar to the old belief that mirrors were not a reflection of your image, but of your soul. That belief led to the superstition that is was bad luck to break a mirror. It also led to the belief that mirrors were magical, hence their presence as magical object in many tales, and the idea that vampires have no reflection because they have no soul. Sorry about the rambling-ness this post!

Oh, and quick question for Adam: Do you hand-draw these comics, or do you use a computer program? If by hand, what medium do you use, especially for shading them in? If by computer, then what program do you use? Ok, so question*s* then.

And because I feel obligated to put in a little plug for the website that directed me to this awesome comic, here's a link: http://www.penumbras.info

Yeah, I know the Amish don't have any hang-ups about getting their picture taken but it made me chuckle when I came up with it. Thanks for getting yer sister on the Bug bandwagon!

I don't know about the stealing of the soul, but I do know that the reason the Amish don't allow pictures of them(drawn or otherwise) is because they see it as vain. In Amish culture, you can't show any vanity. This is also why they don't wear anything stylish.

In the movie Witness at least, they were kind of annoyed that tourists thought they were "quaint". (Although anger is a sin, right? I'm not sure about annoyance.)

I asked Adam the same question, and I'll give the answer since he forgot to -

      "Hello Eric,

My tools are rather primitive. I use mechanical pencils, Faber-Castell artist pens, Sharpie markers and Strathmore smooth Bristol paper (11 x 14). The biggest help comes from an drawing board I picked up that has a built in straight edge:

Not all furries are arroused by anthropomorphic animals. That's a stereotype pushed by all those cop shows and what not. Most furries just enjoy the anthro art.

I personally thought a bug's mortal enemy was a bird or raid. My cat doesn't kill bugs. She just brings them inside and watches them…which is annoying.
