A co-worker of mine had the "become severely paranoid and think non-existent co-workers are out to get you" breakdown. Seriously. And she was a nurse – yikes!

What I've learned about nervous breakdowns:
(1) They're surprisingly common.
(2) Especially common if you treat the need for sleep like a red-headed step-child.
(3) You get all the Vallium you can eat.
